Biography Lee Anne Pellerin was born in Edmonton in 1959. She began her creative endeavors as an amateur actor and after a number of years in this field decided that she wanted a creative outlet that she could have more control over. At that time she started to work with the camera. She shot for a number of years and in 1993 began to show her work. After a few years she took an introductory dark room class through Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. The instructor kept asking her why she was shooting her images the way she was; Lee Anne's answer - 'because they are beautiful images.' She found that she wasn't interested in justifying her work so she didn't pursue a formal education any further. A few years after this she took a few extension courses in art history through Grant MacEwan College. She shoots because it makes her happy and because it is the only outlet in her life that she has complete control over. She is not interested in manipulating the image. All of her images are printed full-frame and the only tools that she uses are a tripod and a polarizing filter. Her works appear in a number of local and national private, corporate and institutional collections. To visit Lee Anne's website please click here. (Opens in a new tab or window) |
